Nail extensions are a full enhancement service designed to add length, correct shape, and create a balanced structure when the natural nail is not long enough for the result you want.
At Darlings Beauty Lab, we perform nail extensions using hard builder gel only. The service is combined with detailed Russian manicure preparation, careful shaping, and professional architecture so the finished nails look clean, elegant, and properly supported.
If you want to increase the length even by a few millimeters, it is still considered nail extensions. Each nail has to be lengthened individually, and the technician must build a new free edge, structure, apex, balance, and strength. That requires extension materials, precision, and significantly more time than a regular gel or hard gel manicure.

Who Upper Forms Suit
Upper forms are often a good choice for clients who want a neat, uniform look, moderate added length, and a smooth finished surface with less filing. They can work well when the natural nail shape allows the form to sit correctly.
Lower Forms
Lower forms are placed under the free edge of the natural nail. The technician sculpts the extension directly on the form, which gives more control over architecture, sidewalls, curve, and custom shape.

We Use Hard Builder Gel, Not Acrylic
Our salon performs nail extensions using hard builder gel. This material allows the technician to build a strong but refined structure, create a clean shape, and maintain the extensions professionally during refills.
We do not use acrylic for nail extensions. Acrylic systems often involve a strong monomer odor, heavier-feeling product, more aggressive filing, and a removal process that can be harsh when done incorrectly. Acrylic itself is not automatically damaging when applied by a skilled professional, but poor application, over-filing, and improper removal can thin, weaken, and dehydrate the natural nail.
Hard builder gel is our preferred system because it supports precise shaping, a cleaner salon experience, and controlled maintenance while still giving the structure needed for added length.

You can book Nail Extensions without choosing upper forms or lower forms in advance. During the appointment, your nail artist checks your natural nail condition, existing product, desired length, shape, and lifestyle, then recommends the method that will suit your nails best.
Russian Manicure Prep
The cuticle area and nail plate are prepared with a dry e-file technique. Proper prep is essential for clean application, adhesion, and a refined grow-out.
Form Placement and Length Building
The technician places upper or lower forms and builds the added length with hard builder gel. The free edge, apex, sidewalls, and balance are created nail by nail.
