Controlled Micro-Injury
Ultra-fine needles penetrate 0.25-2.5mm into the dermis, creating thousands of microscopic channels without damaging the skin's surface.

Microneedling — also called Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) — is a minimally invasive procedure that uses a device covered in ultra-fine sterile needles to create thousands of controlled micro-injuries in the skin's surface. These tiny punctures are invisible to the naked eye, but they trigger a powerful biological response.
When the skin detects these micro-channels, it activates its natural healing cascade: flooding the area with growth factors, fibroblasts, and — most importantly — new collagen and elastin. The result? Firmer, smoother, more even-toned skin that improves progressively over weeks.
Unlike lasers or chemical peels that remove layers of skin, microneedling works with the body's own biology. It's safe for most skin tones, requires minimal downtime, and delivers real, measurable improvements — not just a temporary glow.

The body responds by sending repair signals, growth factors, and fibroblasts to the treatment area.
New Type I and III collagen is produced. Elastin fibers are remodeled. Skin becomes structurally thicker and more resilient over 4-6 weeks.
The micro-channels created allow topical serums to penetrate up to 3,000% deeper than applied to intact skin, dramatically boosting efficacy.
Each protocol is designed for a specific skin concern and active serum. We'll help you choose the right one during your consultation.
Microneedling paired with hyaluronic acid for hydration, smoother texture, and a refreshed glow. A strong starting point for dry, dull, or dehydrated skin.
Microneedling with BioRepeel Cocktail for clients focused on uneven tone, dullness, post-acne marks, and surface texture. The cocktail supports renewal while the micro-channels improve delivery.
Microneedling with exosomes for advanced regenerative support. Exosomes are cell-derived signaling vesicles used in skincare to support repair messaging, barrier recovery, texture refinement, and post-acne scar improvement.
Microneedling with Salmon DNA for intensive hydration, skin quality, and recovery support. Salmon DNA, also known as PDRN, is a polynucleotide-based active used to support smoother, more resilient-looking skin.
Unlike treatments that provide a temporary glow, microneedling creates structural changes that build progressively with each session.
Remodels scar tissue by breaking down old collagen and stimulating fresh growth. Consistently one of the most effective non-surgical treatments for atrophic (pitted) acne scars.
Increased collagen density physically fills and lifts the skin, reducing the appearance of periorbital lines, nasolabial folds, and forehead creases without injections.
New collagen and elastin fibers restore the structural scaffolding of the dermis. The result is firmer-looking skin with better bounce and recoil as your skin remodels after each session.
Enlarged pores appear smaller as surrounding skin becomes firmer. Surface texture becomes measurably smoother after 2-3 sessions, with a visible reduction in roughness.
Speeds up cell turnover and stimulates the skin's natural exfoliation process. Melanin distribution becomes more even, fading dark spots and lending the skin a luminous, healthy glow.
The micro-channels created during treatment dramatically increase the penetration depth of topical serums — making your at-home skincare significantly more effective in the days following treatment.
A thorough pre-treatment consultation allows us to personalize your protocol or recommend an alternative if microneedling isn't suitable for you.
Collagen synthesis takes time. Results from a single session appear gradually over 4-6 weeks as new collagen is laid down. For this reason, microneedling is most effective when done as a course of treatments rather than a single session.
The optimal frequency depends on your skin concern, skin sensitivity, and which protocol you choose. We recommend spacing sessions at least 4 weeks apart to allow full healing between treatments.
After completing your initial course, quarterly maintenance sessions (every 3-4 months) are ideal for sustaining and building on your results year-round.
3 Microneedling + Hyaluronic Acid sessions spaced about 4 weeks apart. A practical starting point for tone, texture, hydration, and radiance.
4-6 sessions every 4-6 weeks. Scar remodeling is a slower biological process; consistency is key. Exosomes and Salmon DNA are separate advanced protocols; your esthetician may recommend one for more intensive renewal support.
A series of Microneedling + BioRepeel Cocktail sessions can support brighter tone, smoother texture, and post-acne mark improvement.
1 session every 3-4 months after completing your initial course. Keeps collagen levels elevated and results lasting.
A little preparation goes a long way. Following these guidelines helps ensure a safe, comfortable treatment and the best possible healing.
Preparing your skin in advance reduces irritation and optimizes results.
The post-treatment period is critical. Your skin barrier is temporarily compromised — protect it.
Knowing what to expect helps you plan around your appointment.
Redness — the vast majority of clients experience redness for 12-48 hours after the procedure. This is a natural inflammatory response and a sign that the healing process has begun. Think of it as a mild sunburn — it passes on its own.
Flaking & peeling — some clients notice light peeling or skin flaking over days 2-4 as accelerated cell turnover clears away old surface cells. This is perfectly normal and means the treatment is working. Do not pick or scrub — let it shed naturally.

Need to know
Not significantly. We apply a topical numbing cream 20-30 minutes before the treatment, which makes the procedure comfortable for the vast majority of clients. Most describe the sensation as a light scratching pressure. Areas closer to bone — forehead, nose bridge — can be slightly more sensitive. The treatment itself takes 20-40 minutes once numbed.
Your skin will look noticeably fresh and brighter about 7 days after treatment as initial cell turnover completes. Deeper structural improvements — firming, scar reduction, pore refinement — develop over 4-6 weeks as new collagen is synthesized. With a course of 3-5 sessions, clients typically notice cumulative improvement that builds with each treatment.
Dermapen, SkinPen, and similar names refer to specific medical-grade devices used to perform microneedling. They are all pen-style devices that do the same thing — create controlled micro-perforations. The quality of results depends far more on the practitioner's technique, needle depth selection, and the serum applied than on the specific brand of device. We use professional-grade medical devices with single-use sterile cartridges.
Yes — this is one of microneedling's significant advantages over laser treatments. Because microneedling uses mechanical action rather than heat or light energy, it does not selectively target melanin and is safe for all Fitzpatrick skin types (I-VI), including deeper skin tones. When working with darker skin, we use conservative depths and avoid aggressive passes over hyperpigmented areas to minimize any risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Yes — and both are completely normal, expected reactions that indicate your skin's healing process is working exactly as it should.
Redness: The vast majority of clients leave the studio with visibly pink or red skin — similar in appearance to a mild sunburn. This is a direct result of the controlled inflammatory response we've intentionally triggered. For most people, redness begins fading within a few hours and is largely gone by the following morning. In clients with more sensitive skin or who receive a deeper treatment, it can persist for up to 48 hours. It is not a cause for concern.
Flaking and peeling: Some clients (not all) notice light skin flaking or surface peeling on days 2-4 after treatment. This happens because microneedling dramatically accelerates cell turnover — old surface cells are being shed to make way for fresh, new skin. The flaking is typically subtle, not dramatic. The most important rule: do not pick, peel, or scrub — allow it to shed on its own. Moisturize gently with the recovery serum we provide and it will resolve within a day or two.
We recommend waiting at least 24-48 hours before applying makeup. The micro-channels in the skin remain open for several hours after treatment, and introducing bacteria or pigments from cosmetics into those channels can cause irritation or breakouts. Mineral makeup can typically be reintroduced on day 2 if redness is minimal. Avoid heavy or occlusive foundations for the first 72 hours.
Chemical peels work on the surface — they dissolve the outer layers of skin to trigger exfoliation and surface renewal. They're excellent for brightness, mild hyperpigmentation, and surface texture. Microneedling works deeper — it targets the dermis where collagen lives, making it more effective for structural concerns like scarring, laxity, and wrinkles. The two treatments are complementary and can be alternated as part of a comprehensive skincare plan.
Results from a course of microneedling can last 12-18 months depending on your skin's natural aging process, lifestyle factors (sun exposure, diet, stress), and whether you maintain a solid home skincare routine. Scar reduction results are typically permanent — once scar tissue is remodeled, it does not return. To maintain overall skin quality, we recommend a maintenance session every 3-4 months after your initial course.
Yes, but with careful timing. If you have had Botox or hyaluronic acid filler recently, we recommend waiting 2 weeks before microneedling in the same area. Conversely, after microneedling, wait at least 2 weeks before any injectable treatments. The two modalities work beautifully together as part of a comprehensive anti-aging plan — injectables address dynamic wrinkles and volume loss, while microneedling improves skin quality and texture.
Microneedling + Hyaluronic Acid focuses on hydration, plumping, and smoother texture. Microneedling + BioRepeel Cocktail is better suited for dullness, post-acne marks, uneven tone, and surface texture. Microneedling + Exosomes and Microneedling + Salmon DNA are advanced options for clients who need more regenerative support for visible texture, acne scarring, firmness, or signs of aging. Your esthetician will choose the protocol based on your skin condition and goals.
